Buzz In the Chat: Resting HR has been creeping up over the last couple of years and is now like 75-85
Doc 1: 48, very fit, works out twice a day, minimal caffeine, no drugs. Normal cardiac workup (CCTA, EKGs, echo, treadmill, etc) for a single episode of a.fib that was d/t thyroid meds (which he stopped)
Doc 2: HRV, stress?
Doc 3: Not truly Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia, but may be relative ISA.
DDx:Thyroid, Caffeine, Alcohol, Anxiety, Pain
You could get a 2 week Zio Patch to actually measure his long term heart rate.
If everything turns out normal have him try HeartMath Biofeedback- could help IST and HRV and Stress
Doc 4: Only thing I would add is vagus nerve stimulation- which will also be supportive of HRV and help to balance parasympathetic tone. I really like the Nurosym device
Doc 5: How r u measuring? Overnight average from something like oura? My mind goes to simple things that could be impacting measurement
Doc 1: uses Fitbit overnight. And tracks HRV and Exercise HRs with a chest strap from M7 (w/Morpheus app).
Doc 6: I assume he's not on GLP1 medication? That's been known to drive up heart rate
Doc 7: I would : start my day with testing hrv before getting up in my bed (welltory good app for that), integrating breathwork / cardiac coherence (Heartmate app or without noting) in front of a red/nir infrared panel, do cold plunge, infrared sauna, vagal nerve stimulation (I confirm that Nurosym is great I added 20 ms to my Nocturnal HRV with 60 minutes cession at night) , and finally PEMF with the Swissbionics
Doc 8: anemia, dehydration, supplement (too much vitD, low b12), did you test cortisol?
Doc 9: I would consider stress from overtraining. Cortisol testing def makes sense.
Doc 10: Scan him abdominal MRI non con for visceral fat. He is 95% probability a TOFI (Thin Outside full of Fat Inside)

Investigating the association between blood metabolites and telomere length: A mendelian randomization study
This study suggests that 15-methylpalmitate, taurocholate, and levulinate are likely factors correlated with telomere length. These findings will contribute to the development of strategies for protecting telomeres, preventing related diseases, and establishing a new biological foundation for achieving healthy aging.

A few drugs seem to have a beneficial effect on lifespan
As expected, most drugs harbor a negative effect on lifespan, probably due to the underlying negative effect of the disease the drug is intended for. Importantly, a few drugs seem to have a beneficial effect on lifespan, including notably Sildenafil, Atorvastatin, Naproxen and Estradiol.
